Asus 1215T Review

Asus 1215Ti another netbook with 12.1 inch screen, but it has a 1.7GHz Neo processor and ATI HD 4250 graphics card. In these tests, the GPU is fully capable of providing 1080p HD video.

This is a black piano finish around the 12-inch box that attracts lots of fingerprints, but since it's not a touch screen device, it would not be touching these areas a lot. I loved his two tone black-on-silver finish, but was disappointed to see the average quality of workmanship. Just do not expect Apple-like build quality here. Its screen box also has a 1.3 mega pixel camera with a slider cover to protect it from dust.

comes into its own keyboard, it is important keys such as Enter are smaller in size than the Asus Eee PC 1201T - its predecessor. I had no problems using its touchpad, but a bar below the touchpad should press the company to register a 'click'.

Performance wise, it is much better than most single core Atom PCs out there with GMA 3150 graphics. It comes with an AMD Neo II K125 processor and ATI Radeon HD 4250 HD graphics are certainly better than the Atom and GMA 3150 combo. It also comes with a 320GB HDD, 2GB RAM, VGA port and 3 USB ports along with HDMI connection. My netbook comes preloaded with ExpressGate - fast boot Linux OS. Fortunately, Asus has made Windows 7 drivers available on their web site. I installed the version of Windows 7, and not experience any problems.

Now, here's the downside to too much power in a netbook - battery low. It was delivered 3.5 hours in my YouTube video test with normal web surfying it gave me about 4.5 hours. This is fine for me, but might not be enough for netbook-ers who are used to 10 hours plus runtime. Asus Eee PC 1215Ti is priced at $ 400, which is about 50-60 U.S. dollars more expensive than Atom launches 10-inch netbook. Although its build quality is exceptional, it certainly has more power than 10-inchers.
