a couple of weeks ago, Apple released the iPhone 4s, and along with it came Siri. Siri is described as a personal assistant on the phone. Basically, you talk to Siri and not what is said to do. It can answer questions, tell time, and even send SMS messages, along with countless other things. From what I saw, Siri seems to be an amazing app. I have to admit that Apple has raised the bar with this is a great thing for Android users. To remain competitive, Android developers will have to come up with something that is at least as good if not better than Siri. Fortunately, the developers have already started work on a wider clones and came up a couple of applications that look pretty good. I have tested five of the most promising applications, they are judged on accuracy, speed and appearance. Here are the results of the hunt on the Android version of Siri:
1 Andy - This is very disappointing about. It felt very awkward and unrefined. Answers to questions come slowly, if they come at all. The appearance of the application is lacking as to complement the on-screen ads. I do not recommend wasting your time on this app. Overall score - 38/100
2 Skyvi - This is another disappointing app that shares many of the same problem as Andy. Skyvi had a lot of incorrect results at the top of confusing and frustrating sučelje.App is unattractive to say the least. Overall score - 44/100
3 Iris - Surprisingly, this application did not score as well as I'd thought. This is a nice clean interface to quickly respond when prompted. Iris also has a good personality programed into it. Unfortunately, the results were fairly inaccurate and that the functionality is ograničena.App is still in its early stages and I expect it to be a formidable opponent for spreading in the next few updates. Overall score - 59/100
4 Speaktoit Assistant - From Siri clones I tested, Speaktoit was the best performing and most accurate app. It is highly customizable user interface that looks great and works flawlessly with one huge iznimka.Sučelje voice recognition worked only about 50% of the time. I am not sure if the problem is specific to my device or not, but it was a job switch for me. Looking past the bug voice recognition, this app is awesome, but it just is not at Siri yet. Maybe in the future will be a little brighter for Speaktoit assistant, but as for now, the developers certainly have more work. Overall score - 81/100
5 Vlingo - Vlingo is different from other Siri clones tested here, mainly because it has not spread clone. If nothing else, Apple got the idea for a wider from Vlingo. Vlingo is a highly polished, it is an application that does what he intended to do so skillfully. Although heavy use of voice recognition, Vlingo is unable to talk, but it was not designed for it. You can send text, e-mail, search, and tell you the time, but do not expect to hear corny jokes from it. If you are really in the market for a personal assistant, which relies heavily on voice input of which is your best bet. If you learn your commands and take advantage of its functionality, but this app will be a real time saver.
This test showed that Android does not have a viable answer to a wider, but it will come. I think if we ever see a personal assistant app that is better than Siri, Google will have to put your own develepors work. As for now, Speaktoit assistant and Vlingo are your two best bets depending on your preferences. Try them and see what fits your needs, they are free from the market, as well as other applications tested. Also, click on the link to find advice. Thanks for reading!
