I'll give you a simple primjer.Izbornik your iPhone or iPad. It is too easy to change the look of things, or to customize it, as they say. Apple has put up some restrictions on what can and can not do with standard software. Of course, smart people have found a way around this, but still, charging bucketloads of money for a quality product without being able to add a personal touch? Little strange if you ask me ....
...But iTunes is so clunky to use. It was slow at times. It takes ages to complete the file transfer. It does not even allow you to keep some of the original media formats, as it must be converted first. All in all, for me personally, this is a very negative aspect of an otherwise excellent product. I just prefer to get things done properly, quickly and hassle free.
Next, we got Google, the Android OS.
Google has become a household brand to anyone even remotely connected to the internet or technology. They have come a long way, however, they are also still quite a long way to go. I am a free user (not necessarily fanboi though), and I like the free country is in.
It does not meet all my needs though. I am a media person. None of the free OSes, such that the official press and custom ROM, I can fully satisfy. There is light at the end of the tunnel I think, but we'll eagerly await to see what the future holds in store for us.
Android OS biggest downside is this: Gingerbread is in line for smart phones, but not all models will not see (official) version of Gingerbread. For tablets, Honeycomb is a great piece of software, but not all of the pills to get an upgrade to the honeycomb, which is supposed to be the Android OS until you get Ice cream sandwich that "the unique experience of both worlds ".
In this sense, Apple is committed to creating a complete OS cover that a device needs and strengths. I'm pretty sure Ice Cream Sandwich (from what I've seen so far) makes a major step in the right direction. However, there is still work to be done afterwards. No, we're getting ahead of ourselves here, we will return to Ice Cream Sandwich later.
All this brings us to the Blackberry. Where do I start on this issue?
Blackberry is the standard for business users, as well as fair share of non-business customers for years. Everyone was on their own BlackBerry to ensure optimal mobile experience on a smartphone, or their tablets. The Blackberry still brings some excellent business functions on devices. If it works properly, it is.
I'm sure you've all heard of the recent BlackBerry currents, which left most (if not all) of its customers around the world without e-mail and internet service for a few days. We are not talking about a few hundred people here are people talking about GLOBAL outburst of the most commonly used services on the smartphone or tablet. After everything was sorted, they tried to make up for that benefit everyone, "over one hundred U.S. dollars premium applications for free ".
Now, let's be honest here, what you had 3 or more useful applications in the premium package? Basically, most of you got diddly squat. What does the Blackberry only to business customers, if they really had any use for premium applications, it is. All other users got left in hladnom.Nedavna survey noted that 60% of current BlackBerry users will not apply for a new BlackBerry device after his contract expires. Ouch!
On a brighter note, it will not be the end Blackberry or RIM. However, the same applies to the BlackBerry as it does for Google: set up in the right direction, and push forward with that site. If you want people to stay with the BlackBerry, or even attract new customers, you will need to get your act together, and sooner rather than later.
Last but not least, we have a Microsoft Windows Mobile.
This could actually be a dark horse in this race, in my opinion. Windows Mobile has been around for awhile, did not achieve any great success, but it was not put out of business any other competitor. It has always been around, and believe me, it will be around for much longer after the contestants were able to disappear into oblivion.
Microsoft Windows or Windows Mobile Phone as it is formally known as, has been synonymous with quality user experience (mostly at least), combined with decent hardware, in confidence, Windows-esque environment. Windows Phone has always been focused on customers, not necessarily in companies, compared to BlackBerry's RIM.
After facing dismissal under development in 2004, the Group reorganized the Microsoft Windows Mobile, which led to the first, though temporary, Windows Mobile to launch in 2009. Things did not go well, because Windows Mobile is not compatible with any Windows Phone applications. This was to blame for the lack of resources and time.
Finally, the appointment of the OS has changed in Windows Phone 7. (It sounds appealing, do not you think?) As of this writing, Microsoft has engaged in Samsung sealed (yes, they are still around) for the distribution of Windows Phone 7 on the new line of smartphones coming to a place near you. However, they exact location has not been published as of now. You have to love a little mystery, people!
Part 2: the future
In my view, fatal to four times will lead to a three horse race with another player sitting in the seats watching the slowly biding his masterfully skilled return plan stage. I will explain his vision for the future mobile world:
the first two brands will remain Apple, with its iOS, and Google with its Android OS. Both companies seem to be heading down the same path in terms of software development, user experience, and hardware upgrades. However, Apple still has a big advantage because they control all aspects of production and development.
Android will keep on increasing the mobile devices' sales (in units shipped, the actual sales), but still slightly behind Apple undisputed leadership of the current tržišne.Twist for leadership could happen at some point in the future, but I would not expect in the first years. However, slowly but steadily, we will see the evening out on the market.
Windows Mobile will be appealing to most low-end, non-technical users. They have a number of decent smartphone is coming up, which are easy to use with decent hardware under the hood, produced by Nokia. Not everyone wants to pay big money for a smartphone, and certainly not everyone needs all the functions available on iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. Will we ever see Windows Mobile on the pill? Only time will tell, but it would be a smart decision in my opinion.
Blackberry RIM will ultimately be left behind in the years to come, if you do not step up their game and the regular consumers and businesses. They may very well leave the mobile market together, and never be heard in this regard. Or could surprise us all and become the number one company in the business. Who can say?
