John Sculley, who originally worked for Pepsi-Cola, he was hired by Steve Jobs in 1983. Jobs dragged him from the Pepsi-Cola to become Apple's new CEO. However, Jobs and Sculley's employment was distorted near the end of 1984, when industry-wide decline in sales occurred. This event caused many layoffs and discouraging sales performance. Shortly thereafter, a power struggle developed between Jobs and Sculley. Neither man was satisfied with what the other is working within the Apple company. Finally, Apple Board ordered Sculley to "contain" jobs. They wanted to limit Steve Jobs' ability to start an expensive venture into untested product. Jobs believed that Sculley was inappropriate person to lead the company, and tried to form a government coup to overthrow him. However, before Steve Jobs 'plan could take action, Sculley learned of jobs' intentions and urged the Board to resolve the problem at hand.
