Hardware and Software - A Basic Introduction

use the Internet services are one of the most dominant reason for the fact that PCs and laptops. In order to work, and especially to maintain and troubleshoot your computer, it is important to understand the basic functions and terminology of the computer. All of the basic components of calculating either hardware or software.

* Hardware
The hardware is all the physical components of a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, and tower (or, on a laptop, base, keyboard and screen) are all hardware. Other pieces of hardware can be added, changed or removed after the purchase of basic components. Although the hardware you can see, you have the hardware parts that you can not see, because they are connected or installed inside a computer tower. This is called the internal hardware. External hardware is usually attached to the back of the tower and the internal hardware. Here are examples of hardware:

* CD and DVD-natural plastic disk is the hardware that stores the programs running on your computer.
* CD drives and burners, for playing and recording data on a CD.
* Modem dial-up, cable, DSL, and all require a modem (dial-up modems are often internal, but may be sold as an external device
* The wireless router, this device can be connected to a broadband modem for converting digital signals into wireless, so you can connect to the Internet without a cable plugged into the computer.
* Wireless Card / network adapter is usually inland, these components are connecting wirelessly to broadband services can also be purchased and attached to the outside.
* IPods, smartphones, iPhone, mobile phones, Blackberry's devices will also take into account the hardware, especially since they are often connected to a computer and can be used to connect to the Internet.

* Software *
The software all you can not physically touch. It is programs and applications that make everything displayed on the screen, allows the hardware to run and communicate with each other, and perform tasks. Without software, your computer would just be a complicated pile of metal and plastic.

There are basically two types of software: system software and application software. System Software is what makes your computer and controls the background processes, most of whom do not have control or might not even know about it. Application software, or applications, everything you use to complete their tasks. Here are some examples:
* Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel and Outlook are all applications, and are similar to programs such as WordPerfect or OpenOffice.
* Web browsers-Internet Explorer, Firefox, and MSN Explorer are just some examples.
* Games, calculators, calendars, wizards, well, everything on the All Programs list?
* Antivirus programs, spyware scanners, registry cleaner, etc.
* Music players such as Windows Media Player and RealPlayer

software is available in all sizes and styles to perform almost any imaginable task or form of entertainment. You can usually download them from the Internet, buy the CD in stores, and often come stored on a CD with the hardware purchase.

Knowing the difference between software and hardware and how they work is the first step in keeping your computer in good shape (eg, knowing how and when to upgrade it) and remove the underlying problems (determining the cause of the problem-whether hardware or software associated ?).
