Google Plus - An Introduction

Do you know what Google Plus? This is a brand new social networking site launched by Google. It is tightly integrated with various other Google services. Many experts have argued that it is quite compelling and interesting than even Facebook and other social sites. It offers easy sharing and social connections.

However, Google Plus is still in testing phase. Therefore, you can sign up for an account now. They are deployed in the field trial basis, so that only those invited can create an account. For example, if your friend has an on-line account and send an invitation, then you will be able to open an account.

After you complete your account set up, plus Google displays the home screen. This page is similar to Facebook. Here, video, messages, photos and links are displayed. They allow you to add "+1" (as "Like" button on Facebook) or give comments.

You can also activate the chat client Google Talk. This will allow you to integrate the main Google account. Also, on top of the homepage is a black bar with links to other Google applications. So, you can easily switch between Gmail, Calendar, Photos, Reader and Docs.

Circuits
Plus Google has introduced the concept of buddy lists, which are called "circles". It allows to organize on-line contacts such as your colleagues, friends, family members, etc. in different groups. This helps to filter the posts and updates so that you can send some circuits, but not all. This helps maintain a healthy balance between the different groups.

hangouts
"Inn" is another exciting feature in Google plus. As a matter of fact, it is one of the first social network that introduced video interview with the social concept of friends. It is basically a virtual room where the video chat can be initiated among people within the circles. To start or join Google plus the inn, you will need a headset, microphone and webcam. Today, most laptops have these built-in accessories. So, no problem at all. You can see what your friends are doing during a conversation with you.

Sparks
Sparks is another new feature of Google Plus. They act as an RSS feed. However, they work for the issues, not specific sites. For example, it pulls news stories, current articles and relevant websites for keeping it updated. How to track your interests and search for new things, makes sparks.

Huddles
Huddles are a group chat using only text. This is useful for co-operation at work or getting friends together. It can be organized for the entire circuit, or for certain people. So, Google Plus can be used as a social marketing platform to promote and create an online business.
