It is easy to get confused when they study computers. Many newcomers get frustrated and it seems like the vendors at the local big box electronic stores in foreign languages. Many terms and words related to computer industry that does not apply to any other aspect of life. What is software? What is hardware? What is the CPU? ROM? RAM? Take a moment to look at some examples of computer hardware.
Computer hardware is just that, "hard" surfaces you touch. Hardware is what the computer. A software program running on hardware that tells your computer what to do when you use your computer to balance your checkbook, look at the e-mail or surf the Internet. Examples of computer hardware are:
of the monitor - you've seen the results, such as television.
o CPU - central processing unit is where all the complicated mathematics and computer science happen.
on CD or DVD ROM - This is the drive that "reads" a CD or DVD. ROM burners are NOT "read only."
on CD-ROM or DVD-RW - to drive the "burn" or "do" CDs and DVDs. Usually you can read and write to CD or DVD.
Memory - This is just like what you read, the more memory your computer has, the better it will work.
This page - This allows you to print your documents (your resume,) files, printers and many times they have more than one function. Many printers can be shared as scanners, fax machines and copiers.
o Wireless or Hardwired Router - These are devices that allow you to connect to other computers in "Network". They can work individually or in combination with the "modem", which are devices that allow you to connect to the internet.
Although the above list is quite extensive, it does not include all examples of computer hardware you might encounter. Lot is considered hardware device (remember, you can touch the hardware.) Device list does not mention the CDs and DVDs, flash drives, floppy disks and drives, mouse and keyboard, and hard drives that store the operating system and software.
Computers have different hardware configurations. Some offer more memory, storage, or optionally pogona.Tip computer purchase will depend on what you do with it. There are various configurations available for almost every application and desire. Whether you are going to play games, just e-mail and surf the net, or plot the distance between the planets and stars, there is a computer set up and ready for you to buy. Each will be configured slightly differently based on what you're looking to place their applications on the hardware.
I hope you now have a better understanding of the different examples of computers and can make an informed decision when making your next computer purchase.
